ZAAF | Made in Africa - Campaign Launch at Smithsonian National Museum of African Art

For ZAAF's campaign, we had the incredible honor of hosting an exclusive event that brought together over 250 distinguished guests at the iconic Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington, DC. This prestigious venue, renowned for its dedication to celebrating the rich and diverse artistic traditions of Africa, served as the perfect backdrop for a night of cultural and creative brilliance.

The event was designed to highlight the essence of ZAAF's mission: to celebrate African craftsmanship and artistry while showcasing its intersection with contemporary luxury. Guests were immersed in an evening that combined the worlds of fashion, photography, and storytelling, providing them with a deeper understanding of the vision and values behind ZAAF.

One of the main highlights of the evening was the stunning display of fashion photography by the renowned artist Joey L. His work, celebrated globally for its raw beauty and compelling narratives, was the centerpiece of the event. The showcased images were captured at the breathtaking Danakil Depression in Ethiopia, one of the most unique and surreal landscapes in the world. Known for its vibrant colors, otherworldly terrain, and intense natural phenomena, the Danakil Depression provided a strikingly dramatic setting that perfectly complemented the sophistication and elegance of ZAAF's collection.

Joey L.'s photographs captured the synergy between the natural beauty of Ethiopia and the refined artistry of ZAAF. The images told a story of resilience, tradition, and innovation, echoing the values that the brand embodies. Through his lens, he brought to life the intricate details of the collection, showcasing the craftsmanship, vibrant colors, and textures that are deeply rooted in Ethiopian culture.

Adding depth to the visual experience, we presented a short behind-the-scenes documentary that offered guests an intimate look into the creative process behind the campaign. This documentary not only highlighted the logistics and challenges of conducting a photo shoot in such an extreme environment but also delved into the cultural and historical significance of the Danakil Depression. It featured candid moments from the team, insights from Joey L., and the designer, Abai Schulze and interviews with local collaborators who played an essential role in bringing the vision to life.

The documentary served as a testament to ZAAF's commitment to authenticity and storytelling. By peeling back the curtain, we aimed to share the heart and soul of the campaign with our audience, allowing them to connect with the brand on a deeper level. Guests gained a newfound appreciation for the dedication and passion that goes into creating a collection that not only celebrates African heritage but also resonates with a global audience.

As part of the event, we offered an exclusive preview of our latest collection, giving attendees a first look at the pieces that embody the spirit of ZAAF. Each item in the collection was thoughtfully designed to reflect the perfect harmony of tradition and modernity. From meticulously handcrafted leather bags to elegant accessories, the collection showcased the artistry and skill of Ethiopian artisans. Guests had the opportunity to experience the pieces up close, appreciating the fine craftsmanship, intricate details, and premium materials that define ZAAF's offerings.
